Marinated Asparagus

2 lg. cans asparagus
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. white vinegar
10 whole cloves
3 sticks cinnamon
2 tsp. celery seed
Drain asparagus well & place in a flat casserole dish. Bring remaining ingredients to boil & boil until sugar dissolves. Let stand for 5 mins. for flavors to blend. Strain & pour over asparagus. Cover & refrigerate 2 hours to overnight.
To serve: Drain asparagus & place in bunches of 3-4 stalks garnished with a strip of pimento over one end. Can be served with a celery stick beside each serving, too.
